Taiga Filmes is a production company created by the journalist and filmmaker Lucia Murat in the early 80’s. The company was responsible for innumerable videos for TV and publicity and the following films: “O Pequeno Exército Louco” (Little Mad Army), “Daisy” (Daisy), “Que Bom Te Ver Viva” (How Nice to See You Alive), “Doces Poderes” (Sweet Power), “Brava Gente Brasileira” (Brave New Land), “Quase dois irmãos” (Almost Brothers), “Olhar Estrangeiro” (Foreign Eye), “Maré, Nossa História de Amor”(Another Love Story) and “Dia dos Pais” (Father’s day), “Histórias que só existem quando lembradas” (Found Memories), “Uma Longa Viagem” (A Long Journey) and “A memória que me Contam” (Memories They Told Me).
Beside the feature films, Lucia Murat has been responsible for important series for educational TV (“Testemunho”, about important Brazilian History characters); “O caso eu conto como o caso foi”, short stories based in classics of Brazilian literature, and “Mulheres no cinema”, about women in the Brazilian movies). The feature films from Taiga received innumerous prizes and are present in the most important international festivals.
